Annette Hall

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor with a B.S in math, computer science, and a masters in math education, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create a safe, and engaging atmosphere which monitors classroom assignments, projects and enrichment activities. I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all CELC’s extensively trained and certified Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Teresa Johnson

Instructor

I believe that every child is an artist… this is a quote from a famous artist, Pablo Picasso. In my years in the classroom, I have had the pleasure of teaching art and see the wonder in the eyes of students as they see the results of their finish work.  The experience is priceless! Too often students think that being artistic or having the ability to draw is a talent that was inborn and not learned.  However, everyone has an imagination. Art takes it a step further. Through art, students create something that, until that point, was only imagined. Thus, they create visual manifestations of abstract ideas.  I’ve discovered that creating art is a great way for students to make choices and solve problems.  Every step involves making a decision. For example, what color to use, how to make a line, or what size?  In every choice the object becomes more and more their own. Nothing makes a student feel more valued than their teacher being excited about their art work.

Aldwin Jackson

Coach Basketball/Swimming

I graduated from Oakwood College with a B.S. in Physical Education/Teaching. I have been teaching and coaching various sports for the past 20 years. Sports include basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, swimming, track, and racquet ball. Getting students and players to better understand the sports and the history behind the sports is important in getting them to master each sport. I was the Physical Education teacher and Athletics Director for Oakwood Adventist Academy for the past 15 years. I am married to an amazing woman and we have 2 exceptional boys. I love teaching students to be better adults through sports.
